ABOUT WVS
The WVS Companies, LLC was formed in 2001 in a natural progression of earlier development companies working in Northern Virginia and Maryland. Current major financial investors include two Washington, D.C. groups, the Epstein Family Organization (EFO) and Snell Construction Corporation (SCC). The founding members are Lawrence Wilkes, President and Jason Vickers-Smith, Vice President. They have worked together since 1996.
Lawrence Wilkes, P.E. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia. As President, Larry is responsible for all aspects of the WVS mission, from product concept to full implementation. He has a BS degree in civil engineering from the Virginia Military Institute with graduate study and advanced degrees in economics and in environmental planning at the University of Virginia. He worked for Cadillac Fairview in the early nineteen-eighties in various roles including development of Fairview Park in Fairfax, Virginia. He has developed numerous other projects including Courthouse Place in Arlington, Virginia.
Jason Vickers-Smith. His responsibilities include identifying, designing and developing real estate projects including land development and hands-on building development. He has a BSE from Duke University and an MBA from Oxford University in England. He was the senior engineer at Belmont Bay, building and developing major infrastructure including a marina, golf course and condominiums.
Richard Souter. His responsibilities include all aspects of managing development, including zoning, design, finance and construction. He has a BSE from the University of Cape Town, South Africa and an MBA from Oxford University, England. He has experience in construction management, management consulting and real estate finance.
